At Modesto Christian, we seek to develop Christ-centered leaders through excellence in academics, athletics, and the arts.
The following recognitions celebrate students who demonstrate these values through outstanding academic achievement, leadership, character, service, and commitment to their school community.
Academic Honors
Academic Achievement Awards
Recognizes the top five students in each grade (7–12) with the highest cumulative GPAs for consistent academic excellence.
Highest Honors
Awarded to students who earn an exceptional GPA during a grading period across all courses.
CSF & CJSF (California Scholarship Federation & California Junior Scholarship Federation)
Honors students who meet academic requirements for membership in these organizations promoting high achievement.
National Honor Society (NHS)
Recognizes students who excel in scholarship, leadership, service, and character, and positively impact their school and community.
Graduation Honors
Valedictorian
Awarded to the graduating senior with the highest cumulative GPA.
Salutatorian
Awarded to the graduating senior with the second-highest cumulative GPA.
CSF Life Membership
Honors seniors who maintained California Scholarship Federation membership for four or more semesters.
MC Courage, Character, and Crusader Awards
Recognizes seniors who exemplify courage, character, leadership, and school spirit.
Scholarships & Distinguished Awards
Ryan Hodgson Memorial Scholarship
This award recognizes a Modesto Christian High School graduating senior who demonstrates strong character and Christian values.
Established in memory of Ryan Timothy Hodgson, a Modesto Christian alumnus and parent who passed away in 2023,
the scholarship awards $1,500 each year to a senior with a GPA of 3.0 or higher who plans to attend an accredited college or
trade/technical school and pursue a field of study in business, theology, medicine, science, or education.

ACSI Distinguished Christian High School Student Award
This award recognizes a graduating senior who demonstrates academic excellence, strong Christian character, leadership,
and service to others. The honor is presented through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
DAR Good Citizens Award (Daughters of the American Revolution)
This award recognizes one outstanding senior who demonstrates the qualities of a good citizen. Presented through
the Daughters of the American Revolution, the honor also provides the recipient the opportunity to participate
in the program’s scholarship competition.
Modesto Rotary Academic Scholarship
This award recognizes a graduating senior who demonstrates outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to
service within their school and community. Presented by the Modesto Rotary Club, the honor includes a $2,000 scholarship to
support the student’s continued education.
Athletic Academic Recognition
Southern League Scholar Athlete
This award recognizes student-athletes who maintain strong academic standing while participating in athletics, demonstrating dedication to both their studies and their sport.
Middle School Scholar Athlete
This award recognizes middle school student-athletes who maintain strong academic performance while participating in athletics, demonstrating dedication to both their studies and their team.
